In celebration of PEPE’s 25th anniversary, a movement is being born—one that unites faith, education, and action: the Planting Hope campaign. More than a celebration, this is aglobal invitation to sow life, demonstrate care, and invest in the future through nature.
Inspired by the Cultural Mandate in Genesis 1:26–28, where God entrusts humanity with the
responsibility to care for His creation, PEPE reaffirms its commitment—not only to children but also to the world they will inherit. Caring for the Earth is, indeed, an expression of faith.
The goal is simple yet profoundly meaningful: to plant 28,000 trees around the world. Each tree represents a child reached, a future nurtured, and a practical response to God’s calling for us to be faithful stewards of creation.
This mobilization is built upon three pillars that lie at the very heart of PEPE:
Education: Every child is taught the value of creation, the importance of trees, and the role each
person plays in environmental stewardship. They also learn the connection between faith and caring for the world God created. Here, learning means developing both awareness and responsibility.
Practical Action: Learning is transformed into action. Children, educators, churches, and communities put their hands in the soil, actively participating in planting and experiencing firsthand what they have learned.
Global Mobilization: Every tree planted tells a story. Through social media, testimonies, and reports, the world follows this movement and is invited to take part. What begins locally becomes part of something much greater.
Beyond its symbolic value, the campaign aligns with a global commitment: Sustainable
Development Goal 15—Life on Land, which promotes the protection, restoration, and
sustainable use of ecosystems. In this way, PEPE reinforces that its mission contributes to healthier and more sustainable communities.
Planting a tree is an investment in the future. It reflects the belief that, just as a seed grows and bears fruit, a child who is well cared for, taught, and loved will also flourish. It is a simple act
with a lasting impact for generations to come.
Over the coming months, thousands of hands around the world will unite for this purpose. Children will plant seedlings, families will get involved, and churches will mobilize—together forming a living testimony of care, hope, and mission.
Just as PEPE plants seeds in the life of every child, we now also plant trees that will grow, bear fruit, and remind the world that Creation Care is an essential part of our mission.
May every tree be more than just a planting. May it be a landmark of faith, a sign of hope, and an eternal investment.
