In February 2024, the leadership of the Brazilian Baptist Global Missions Board (JMM) met with representatives of the Baptist Convention of Mongolia to officially present the Preschool Education Program (PEPE). After meetings marked by dialogue and prayer, a partnership was established with the purpose of bringing hope, love, and learning to Mongolian children.
Challenges such as the extreme climate, the lack of infrastructure in local churches, and government requirements did not prevent the progress of the mission. With courage and faith, our National Coordinator — present since the beginning of the negotiations — accepted the call and began mobilizing the churches, translating materials into Mongolian, and building a contextualized curriculum.
In January 2025, the first partner church selected its missionary-educators, who received initial training with the support of the PEPE Continental Director in Asia. One of them shared:
“We learned a lot. Now we understand how much we need to grow in order to teach in a proper and holistic way. We are thankful to be launching PEPE in our congregation.”
— J. Ariuntungalag, educator of the Joyful Chamber unit
In September, the Joyful Chamber unit was officially inaugurated with five children enrolled. A small beginning, but full of meaning — a sign that God is opening paths where there were only challenges before.
May this be the first of many steps toward transforming lives in Mongolia. PEPE has arrived, and with it, hope!
Halima Ferreira – PEPE Asia Continental Director
