Impactful miracle in Sabana Perdida!

A moving testimony of healing touched the entire community of Sabana Perdida, in the Dominican Republic, where little Yamileysi Contreras, a student of the PEPE Rayito de Luz program, experienced something that defied medical logic but not the power of God.

It all happened on what seemed to be an ordinary day. Yamileysi was at home with her father, mother, and aunt when she decided to go to the kitchen. Suddenly, an explosion on the stove caused a pot of boiling coffee to spill over her face, leaving deep, visible burns. It was a heartbreaking scene. Everyone present, overwhelmed with anguish, feared the worst. “That little face won’t heal,” someone said through tears.

The following days were difficult. Yamileysi, just a few years old, looked at herself in the mirror and felt sad and embarrassed by the scars. But her faith was unshaken. Her family, the PEPE missionary educator, and the entire congregation started a prayer chain, crying out to God for healing, restoration, and transformation.

And the miracle happened! In less than two months, the burns completely disappeared. Today, Yamileysi’s face is clean, radiant, and full of life, as if the accident had never happened.

This testimony not only strengthened the faith of many but also became a seed of transformation: Yamileysi’s mother now faithfully attends church, grateful for the powerful work God did in her daughter’s life.

Without a doubt, this event is living proof that God still performs miracles, especially among His little ones. At PEPE, we continue to witness God’s great miracles impacting not only the church but also the children, their families, and the surrounding community!

Glory to God! Keep praying for our island so that more lives may be reached through PEPE!
