Vaccinating PEPE children in Peru

According to UNICEF, “Human rights are universal, meaning all 7.6 billion human beings living on Earth are born with these rights, and no one can take them away.” Among all human beings, we include thousands of children who need to have their rights respected and guaranteed, such as physical development – receiving healthcare.

Concerned about the children, PEPE in Peru promoted a special vaccination day. In PEPE units and all schools, the government, through Health Centers, is visiting educational institutions to vaccinate children who haven’t been vaccinated against measles, smallpox, and polio. At the same time, teachers and mothers are vaccinated against the flu.

Thanks to this regulation, we coordinated with the Health Center officials, and they arrive at PEPE units to vaccinate the children for free. For this, parents sign an authorization or can be present at the time of vaccination.

Before the vaccination teams arrive, we work with the children on prevention issues and explain that vaccines protect us from germs and viruses, preparing them for something that usually scares them. They understand that the vaccine is to keep us healthy, and in some cases, they don’t cry but do so understanding it is important for their health.

At PEPE, we are concerned with the comprehensive care of the children because they also need to be protected!

Pray for PEPE in Peru!
