PEPE Philippines 2024

PEPE VAI has been a great tool to bring the local church closer to the families in the Tondo community. Recently, during one of the visits, a mother of one of our little ones at PEPE expressed her deep gratitude for the way the educators care for her child in our PEPE unit. She also showed a great interest in learning more about God, invited the church pastor to conduct Bible studies in her home, and mentioned that she would attend church to participate in the Bible studies and Sunday services.

As a result of this visitation work, 15 families were visited in June, with 2 adults and one child placing their faith in the Son of God. We praise God for the dedication of the educator team and the new pastor of the local church, who has faithfully developed an excellent ministry.

The children who began their studies at PEPE last year completed their educational cycle in early July. Since PEPE is not yet officially recognized by the Department of Education, the children need to be registered in another government preschool to complete one year before entering primary school. The team is assisting parents in this process and has created a follow-up plan to monitor the development of these children until they enter primary school. A new group of children is being registered to begin their studies in August, when the new school year starts in the Philippines.

Despite the challenges at the beginning of the year, the activities with the children were carried out with excellence, and the learning outcomes of the children are recognized by the parents. The local church has done great community outreach work, which has had a significant impact. We praise God for the work of PEPE, the educator team, the area coordinator, and the local church pastor.
